Description	:	Lulu Gertrude Cheney, daughter of John and Susan Cheney, was born May 14, 1872, at Rock Island, Ills. She spent most of her childhood in Illinois and Missouri, later moving to Liberty, Nebraska, where she was united in marriage to Henry Heiserman May 14, 1891. To this union eight children were born: Theo Cecil preceded her in death in 1923, at the age of 21 years. The family moved to Oak, Nebraska, in 1918. She spent the remainder of her life there and in the surrounding community. She united with the Congregational church (sic) at Liberty about twenty-five years... Read More	Lulu Gertrude Cheney, daughter of John and Susan Cheney, was born May 14, 1872, at Rock Island, Ills. She spent most of her childhood in Illinois and Missouri, later moving to Liberty, Nebraska, where she was united in marriage to Henry Heiserman May 14, 1891. To this union eight children were born: Theo Cecil preceded her in death in 1923, at the age of 21 years. The family moved to Oak, Nebraska, in 1918. She spent the remainder of her life there and in the surrounding community. She united with the Congregational church (sic) at Liberty about twenty-five years ago. In 1924 she suffered a stroke of paralysis leaving her an invalid. She was a very cheerful and patient sufferer, her greatest enjoyment being in her family. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.D. Whartman in Nelson, July 28, 1936, at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 14 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, four sons and three daughters: Guy C. of Lingle, Wyoming, Dale T. of Fairbury, Robert E. and Carroll D. of Omaha, Bessie Curry of Burchard, Fae Wilkins and Kate Whartman of Nelson; two sisters, Mrs. I.M. Boling of Lincoln, and Mrs. G.E. Groom of Mountain View, Missouri; six grand children and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Nelson Methodist church (sic) by Rev. V.R. Daniels Thursday afternoon. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic).
