Description	:	Lake City – Lura Knipp, 99, died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Woodlawn Christian Church in Lake City with Pastor Roy Karlen officiating and burial in the Lake City Cemetery. Lunch will follow the interment. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City is assisting the family. Lura Norene Knipp was born on October 18, 1919 to Homer and Ethel (Sharkey) Ort. On July 10, 1948 Lura married Frank Knipp. Lura was proud to have worked at the See’s Candy Company in the 1930’s when it first opened. She also worked as a nurse aide in the baby nursery at Kokomo Hospital in Indiana. Lura enjoyed traveling, gardening, and was an excellent seamstress. Lura was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1984; daughter, Marlys Clark; parents, Homer and Ethel Ort; brothers, Kenneth, Burney, Warren and Chuck Ort; and sisters, Darlene Caskey and Betty Scollon. She is survived by her nieces and nephews. Memorials may be left to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
