He passed away, this past Thursday, February 11, 1960 at the age of 89 years at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Barnes of Frankfort, Kansas, where he had made his home the past two years. He was the last surviving member of his family. The family moved from Indiana to Missouri in 1876, and later moved to Axtell, Kansas in 1890. Read More	Frankfort, Kansas, Index Thursday, February 18, 1960 Luther Elton Clear was born at Union City, Indiana on March 20, 1870. He passed away, this past Thursday, February 11, 1960 at the age of 89 years at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Barnes of Frankfort, Kansas, where he had made his home the past two years. He was the last surviving member of his family. The family moved from Indiana to Missouri in 1876, and later moved to Axtell, Kansas in 1890. Mr. Clear was married June 23, 1892 to Hattie Dannels and to this union six children were born. A son, Earle, passed away in 1909. Mrs. Clear preceded her husband in death in 1954. Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Bertha Hodges, Irving, Kansas, Amy Chadwick, Vermillion, Kansas, Arthur Clear, Blue Rapids, Kansas, Vernon Clear, Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Peral Clear Frankfort, Kansas; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mr. Clear was a farmer. He and his wife Farmed in the Axtell and Vermillion areas, also in Greenwood and Saline counties. They retired from the farming and moved to Frankfort in 1943. He was a member of the Vermillion Presby- terian church. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1960. Pallbearers were Bill Hodges, Dale Clear, Wayne Spiller, Everett Shell, Ray and Wayne Chadwick. Interment was in the Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion, Kansas.
