Description	:	Andrews Luther John Forbes, 87, the beloved husband of Ruth Ray Forbes, went home to be with the Lord and join his waiting loved ones on Saturday evening, March 17, 2012, at the Tidelands Community Hospice House surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Forbes was born a son of Clarence Washington Forbes and Lou Cynthia Wall Forbes on April 29, 1924 in Georgetown. He was retired pulp mill operator of International Paper Company, Georgetown Mill and member of the Quarter Century Club. Read More	Andrews Luther John Forbes, 87, the beloved husband of Ruth Ray Forbes, went home to be with the Lord and join his waiting loved ones on Saturday evening, March 17, 2012, at the Tidelands Community Hospice House surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Forbes was born a son of Clarence Washington Forbes and Lou Cynthia Wall Forbes on April 29, 1924 in Georgetown. He was retired pulp mill operator of International Paper Company, Georgetown Mill and member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church since 1980. He was a devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, and cherished brother; a man of solid character and firm moral standards who leaves a legacy trustworthy and true. Luther and Ruth were married October 19, 1945 and celebrated 66 years together. From their blessed union were five children: Bill (Robbie) Forbes, Barbara F. Ackerman, Larry (Jackie) Forbes, Wayne (Mona) Forbes, and Debbie (Chris) Olson; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He bids farewell to: a son-in-law, Rev. Lloyd (Alice) Ackerman; one brother, Simon (Thelma) Forbes; extended family, Dan (Betty) Ray, Bob Ray, Frank (Jenny) Ray, Betty R. Goodwin, Elizabeth Johnson, and Annie Mae Pugh; and a large number of nieces and nephews. He joins his waiting Heavenly family: his parents; his wife; his daughter, Barbara; his daughter-in-law, Helen W. Forbes; three brothers, Tony Forbes, Jim Forbes, and Hammy Forbes; one sister, Ola F. Johnson; his extended family, David and Bela Ray, Don and Iva Nell Ray, JD and Hazel Ray, Lethan Ray and, Adrea and Harry Fulton. A Home Going Service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
