Description	:	ANDREWS-Ruth Ray Forbes, 81, the beloved wife of Luther John Forbes, went home to be with the Lord and join her waiting loved ones on Sunday morning, February 26, 2012 at the MUSC. Mrs. Forbes was born a daughter of General Marion Ray and Myrtle Russell Ray on March 29, 1930 in Georgetown. She was educated at the Oak Grove School. She was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as a former President of the Women's Auxiliary, a Children's Sunday School Teacher and whose hand prints can be found on each part of her... Read More	ANDREWS-Ruth Ray Forbes, 81, the beloved wife of Luther John Forbes, went home to be with the Lord and join her waiting loved ones on Sunday morning, February 26, 2012 at the MUSC. Mrs. Forbes was born a daughter of General Marion Ray and Myrtle Russell Ray on March 29, 1930 in Georgetown. She was educated at the Oak Grove School. She was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as a former President of the Women's Auxiliary, a Children's Sunday School Teacher and whose hand prints can be found on each part of her church. Though words could never fully describe all her life, she committed her life to acts of selfless giving, fervent prayer, and an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished title - Beloved Mother. Ruth and Luther were married October 19, 1945 and celebrated 66 years together. From their blessed union were five children: Bill (Robbie) Forbes, Barbara F. Ackerman, Larry (Jackie) Forbes, Wayne (Mona) Forbes, and Debbie (Chris) Olson; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She bids farewell to: a son-in-law, Rev. Lloyd (Alice) Ackerman; three brothers, Dan (Betty) Ray, Bob Ray, and Frank (Jenny) Ray; three sisters, Betty R. Goodwin, Elizabeth Johnson, and Annie Mae Pugh; and a large number of nieces and nephews. She joins her waiting Heavenly family: her parents; her daughter, Barbara; her brothers and their wives, David and Bela Ray, Don and Iva Nell Ray, and JD and Hazel Ray and Lethan Ray; her sister and her husband, Adrea and Harry Fulton. A Home Going Service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church with interment in the Bethel Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Monday evening, February 27, 2012, in the sanctuary of Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Forbes family.
