Description	:	Mr. Luther Maynard Weese, age 85 years departed this life Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at his home in Belington. Mr. Weese had been ill for several years, receiving care at his home by his wife Connie, family, and his wonderful caregivers, Kim, Sue, Margaret, Colleen and Tippi. Mr. Weese was born July 22, 1924 at Mt. Liberty Community in Barbour County, a son of the late Harold "Pappy" and Ethel Booth Weese. On February 1, 1964, in Belington, he was united in marriage to the former Constance Jo Harris Shomo, who survives at their home in Belington.. Mr. Weese was born July 22, 1924 at Mt. Liberty Community in Barbour County, a son of the late Harold "Pappy" and Ethel Booth Weese. On February 1, 1964, in Belington, he was united in marriage to the former Constance Jo Harris Shomo, who survives at their home in Belington.. Mr. Weese is also survived by seven children, Vivian L. Shomo and Rocky Corcoran of the St. George Community, Jennifer J. McDonald and husband Duane of Belington, Timothy E. Shomo of Clarksburg, Irven "Butch" Shomo and wife Joanne of Philippi, Melody L. Jones and husband Ron of Belington, Robert V. Shomo and wife Chris of Belington, and Lucinda "Cindy" M. Conrad and husband Dewey of Covington, GA. In addition he is survived by several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he enjoyed immensely on holidays and on special occasions. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Mr. Weese is survived by one brother, Arnold Weese and wife Patty of Belington and two sisters, Irene Ensminger of Roanoke, VA, and Nina Lee Allen and husband Bud of Belington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Weese was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Bradford Weese, one grandson, Derek James Shomo, seven brothers, Norman "Bus" Weese, Grant "Dick" Weese, Garfield Weese, Bill Weese, Homer Weese, Eugene "Bunny" Weese; Fay Weese; and two sister Ruth Mitchel, Erma Phillips; as well as two infant sisters, Mary and Martha. Mr. Weese was a Coal Miner and retired from the Badger Coal Company in Barbour County and attended the Belington Church of Christ. The family would like to express a special thank you to Mountain Hospice, Barbour County Emergency Squad, the Broaddus Hospital and the Belington Emergency Squad for all the extra care and compassion that they showed through Luther's Illness. The family will receive friends at the Talbott Funeral Home. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Arden Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington.
