She died at her home in Palmer, August 23rd, 1915 at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 28 days. When a small child she came with her parents to Clayton county, Iowa where she grew to womanhood. She died at her home in Palmer, August 23rd, 1915 at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 28 days. When a small child she came with her parents to Clayton county, Iowa where she grew to womanhood. On March 26th 1871 she was united in marriage to Chas L. Cooledge (sic) a Civil War veteran. To this union were born two children, a boy and a girl, both of whom died on arriving at maturity. This loss was a great trial to her later years. Mr. and Mrs. Cooledge and infant son came to Nebraska in 1872 settling on a homestead in Merrick county. Amid the hardships of pioneer days she shared with her husband the task of building a home in the thinly settled community. With the advance of years they left the homestead, residing for a brief time in Grand Island. Not content, they came to Palmer where she remained until her death. After the loss of their only remaining child, the daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Cooledge professed the Christian faith, uniting with the M. E. Church of Palmer. To her death Mrs. Cooledge maintained this faith, living in the hope of reunion with her loved ones in eternal life. Besides her husband and other relatives there are a great host of friends who mourn her absence. The funeral was conducted in the M. E. church by Rev. Bishop and Rev.
