Warren Cheney was born, July 18, 1834, in Shrewsbury, Rutland County, Vermont, son of John Cheney, born in Pennsylvania, and Sarah ______, born in Vermont. He died, Feb. 8, 1899, in Barron, Barron Co., Wisconsin, aged 76 years, 6 months and 21 days, and was buried there in Wayside Cemetery. His military style gravestone is inscribed "Warren Cheeney Co. B. 34 Wis. Inf." They were the parents of eleven or twelve children, all born in Wisconsin, of which only the names of the following nine are known: Onas born 1862 George 1866 William Dec 1867 Homer 29 Dec 1869, died 1934. LYDIA CHENEY Mrs. Lydia Irene Cheney, a former resident of Barron, died on Friday, Jan. 3, at her home at 2917 Nelson St., Spokane, Wash. She was 83 years of age and had made her home in the West for 24 years. She was the widow of Warren Cheney, a Civil war veteran who died several years ago at Barron. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 6, from the New England parlors at Spokane, the Rev. Mr. Nelson of the Baptist church officiating. She is survived by six children, all of whom were present at the funeral: Chester of Kalispell, Mont., Homer of Amery, Wis., Mrs. Alice Lightner of Coeur d'Alene, Ida., Mrs. Rocinda Rubert of Tonasket, Wash., Mrs. Hattie McKenna of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Bertie Carpenter of Spokane, Washington. [Thursday, January 23, 1930, Barron County News Shield, Barron, Wisconsin.] Lydias' mothers name was Lydia "Liddy" C. Gile. (shes my great great grandmother).
