Mrs. Heimbigner, who was 86 years old, died on Jan 16, 1993, in Ritzville. She had lived most of her life in Ritzville, but was an Odessa-area resident several years. She was born on Sept 29, 1906, in Ritzville, the daughter of Frederick and Katherine Adler Miller. She grew up in Ritzville and attended Ritzville schools, graduating from Ritzville High School in 1925. In Sept 1925 she married August Heimbigner, and they made their home in Tacoma for a time, and then moved to Ritzville. In 1937 they began farming the Heimbigner family farm three miles southeast of Odessa. They had two daughters. Mr. Heimbigner died in 1943, and Mrs. Heimbigner and her family moved back to Ritzville. Mrs. Heimbigner was employed by the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company as an operator and in later years was the office supervisor. She retired from the telephone company in 1965 after 22 years. She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, the telephone Pioneers and the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and a charter member of the Odessa Grange. Surviving are her two daughters, Shirley Weber, of Yucaipa, CA; and Cynthia Langenheder and her husband Bob Langenheder, of Ritzville; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Stephen, of Spokane, Karl Langenheder, of Ritzville; Keith Weber, of La Habra, CA; Renee Patrick, of Yucaipa, CA; and Valerie Root, of Eldorado, CA; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Heimbigner, of Spokane, and Ruby Ahlers, of Walla Walla, and a brother, Harold Miller, of Spokane. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. The Rev Robert Lester will officiate at the funeral service.
