Description	:	Cedar Rapids Gazette Friday 22 Nov 1996 MARION Lyle J . Fisher, 80, of 1135 Sixth St., died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood, with military rites. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two brothers, Doyle of Marion and Karl of Brinnon, Wash.; and two sisters, Apryle Frye of East Moline, Ill., and Maxine Beatty of Edgewood. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Neil. Lyle was born May 1, 1916, in Edgewood, the son of Lyle and Mary Boone Fisher. He married Mary E. Amthauer on Aug. 30, 1944, in Junction City, Kan. They had been married for 52 years. Lyle served in the Army during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. After his discharge from the service he farmed near Manchester and Petersburg for several years. He later worked at FMC for four years and then was a superintendent at the Monticello Plywood Factory, retiring in 1968. He was a member of American Legion Marion Post 298. Instead of flowers, a memorial has been established.
