Lyle Lee Leonard was born May 11, 1946 to Lee & Luella (Redlin) Leonard at Watertown, SD. This is where he grew up and attended school, graduating from Watertown High School with the Class of 1964. On February 14, 1968, Lyle married Shari Larson. To this union was added two sons, Jordan and Jeremy. They made their home in Sioux Falls, where he was employed at Farmland Industries and Dakota Sash & Door. In 1998 he moved to Aberdeen, where he was active with his brother working on various housing rehab projects, until the time of his death. Lyle was known by his family and friends as a man with a big heart who could always be counted on to use his skills to help. He was a man of faith Lyle attended Our Savior Lutheran Church, where he previously served on the Board of Elders of the Church. He was a gifted carpenter and most always could be found in his workshop working on a project, most often as a favor to others. Lyle also enjoyed gardening and lawn work. Grateful for having shared Lyle’s life are his parents, Lee & Lue Leonard, Watertown, SD; sons, Jordan (Tracy) Leonard, Goodyear, AZ; Jeremy Leonard, Peoria, AZ; granddaughters, Ryan Elizabeth and Morgan Olivia; brothers, Loren Leonard (Linda Burgard), Aberdeen; Jerry (Heather) Leonard, Enum Claw, WA; Todd Leonard, Aberdeen; nieces, Jodi Young, Detroit, MI; Laura Leonard, Detroit, MI; Brittany Leonard, Watertown; nephews, Chris Leonard, Aberdeen; Matt Leonard, Aberdeen; and Shawn Leonard, Las Vegas.
