Meyer, of north of Hooper, was cast into the depths of mourning last Thursday, when their three- year-old son and brother, Lynes, passed away at 9:15 that evening at the Nicholas Senn hospital, Omaha, to where he had been taken that morning by Mr. Meyer for treatment and operation for an ailment diagnosed as appendicitis by physicians at the hospital, but death came before an operation could be performed. He had been sick about four days. The suddenness of his death came as a great shock to the family at home and to their relatives and many friends. Mr. Meyer brought the body of his little son home, Friday afternoon, where it was kept until Sunday, when funeral services were held that afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at the St. Johns's Ev. Lutheran church, the pastor, Rev. Theo. Norden conducting them and speaking words of comfort to the sorrowing family, and to the relatives and many friends assembled there. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Master Lynes was born on June 16, 1921, and had thus only reached the tender age of 2 years, 8 months and 12 days when summoned to the heavenly home. He was a bright young child, much endeared by his parents and brothers, as well as by relatives and friends of the family. His loss is deeply mourned and the sympathy of the community goes out to the family in their time of sorrow. Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers, Louis and Donald.
