Description	:	Lynn Calvin Carpenter, 84, of Billings, died Sunday, June 9, 1996, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born June 2, 1912, the son of Lynn E. and Iva Carpenter in Zap, S.D. (should read N.D.). On May 28, 1932, he married Minnie M. Slater in McIntosh, S.D. Lynn farmed in the Dakotas for 17 years until he and his family moved to Billings where he worked in construction. Read More	Lynn Calvin Carpenter, 84, of Billings, died Sunday, June 9, 1996, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born June 2, 1912, the son of Lynn E. and Iva Carpenter in Zap, S.D. (should read N.D.). On May 28, 1932, he married Minnie M. Slater in McIntosh, S.D. Lynn farmed in the Dakotas for 17 years until he and his family moved to Billings where he worked in construction. In 1958, he and his wife moved to Helena, where he continued to work in the construction field. He retired in 1974, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Lynn and his wife moved back to Billings in 1984. They spent their winters in Apache Junction, Ariz., and their summers in Billings. Lynn is survived by his wife, Minnie, of Billings; one son, Dale E. Carpenter and his wife, Cheryl, of Woodland Hills, Calif.; two daughters, Dorothy Schaak and her husband, Billy, of Billings, and Iva Lemaster and husband Julian of Merced, Calif.; four grandsons, Michael N. Carpenter of Woodland Hills, Calif., Neal Schaak, James Schaak and Donald Schaak, all of Billings; and one great-grandson, Ian C. Carpenter of Woodland Hills, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Clark M. Carpenter, Owen L. Carpenter, Carroll C. Carpenter and Harlen E. Carpenter. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Michelotti-Sawyers & Nordquist Mortuary with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
