Hoover, 69, of Norfolk will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk with military honors by VFW Post 1644, American Legion Post 16, the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard and the Norfolk Chapter of the Legion Riders. (Lutz) Hoover, was born Dec. 31, 1944, at Norfolk. Following high school, Lynn was called to serve his country. In 1965, he entered the United States Air Force where he held the rank of sergeant during the Vietnam War. Lynn's specialized training in the Air Force included carpentry and building technology, a profession that he would be associated with the rest of his life. Upon receiving his honorable discharge in December of 1969, Lynn made his home in Norfolk and worked at various jobs, including managing the Purina Feed bulk plant. He was also a commercial building salesman for Medallion Construction and most recently Crafts Inc. During his lifetime, Lynn was blessed with two sons, Trace and Jesse. Lynn was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1644 and the American Legion Post 16, both of Norfolk. Although Lynn spent the majority of his life in the sales industry, he was always a cowboy at heart. Lynn found much enjoyment in "going out west" to be a part of cattle drives and also loved rodeos where he competed in team-penning events at county fairs. His love for horses took him to the World Quarter Horse Show in Oklahoma City, and in the last 20 years he never missed a show. Lynn is survived by his sons, Trace Hoover of Spokane, Wash., and Jesse Hoover of Omaha; siblings Delbert (Sharon) Hoover, Jan Cook and Larry (Ruth) Hoover, all of Omaha, D. Jack Hoover, Norma Jean Stueve, Doris Haire and Betty (Willard) Bernstrauch, all of Norfolk, and Jim (Ronda) Hoover of Pilot Point, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
