A single car accident Sunday afternoon took the life of Lynn Elwood Campbell, 23 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Campbell of Luray and critically injured. James Sudduth, son of Elder and Mrs. A. F. Sudduth, of Stanley. The fatal crash occurred on State Route No. 675 about one and one half-miles west of Luray, when the sports car owned and operated by Sudduth overturned. The accident was investigated by State Trooper T. M.White. Dr. M. J. W. White, Page County Medical Examiner, stated that Mr. Campbell died of a crushed shull. He was dead on arrival at the Page Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sudduth, who is a native of Page County, had been working in the Washington, D. C. area for the past several years. He was seriously injured and remains a patient in the Page Memorial Hospital, where he is improving. Lynn Elwood Campbell one of five sons of Lewis Campbell and Virginia Atkins Campbell North Broad Street, Luray, was born in Page County on February 11, 1940. He graduated from Luray High School, where he starred in various athelics and was very popular and well-liked by his fellow students and teachers. He served in the United States Army overseas in Europe and had been discharged last year. Since his discharge from service, he had been employed by Blue Bell. Incorporated where he was well liked by everyone for his sunny disposition and his willingness to help where ever needed. In addition to his parents, Lynn is survived by four brothers, Allen L. Campbell of Amherst, Virginia; Julian L. Campbell of Luray and Dwight G. Campbell and Tommy S. Campbell, all at home. The Rev. Malcolm L. Minnick, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Norfolk and a former pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Luray, officiated at the last rites at ten o'clock Wednesday morning in the chapel of the Bradley Funeral Home. Interment was in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Donnie Pon, Stewart Fears, Payton Baughan, Bobby Long, Freddie taylor and Billy Seekford. Honorary pallbearers were Bennie Campbell, Frank Strawderman, Beveley Good, Earl Embrey, Loring Bruce, Charles Atkins, Miller Price, Charles Foltz, Charles Couch, Mickey Abbott, Edwin Foltz, Donnie Moyer, Ikey Miller, Lee Pitman and Miller Fox.
