Description	:	Lynne Dee Howard (Koontz), 69, passed away in the evening on July 17, 2015 at her home in Gilroy, California with her family by her side. She was born on January 7, 1946 in Hastings, Nebraska to Bob and Betty (Kollman) Koontz and was their only child. Read More	Lynne Dee Howard (Koontz), 69, passed away in the evening on July 17, 2015 at her home in Gilroy, California with her family by her side. She was born on January 7, 1946 in Hastings, Nebraska to Bob and Betty (Kollman) Koontz and was their only child. Lynne grew up on her family’s farm in Edgar, Nebraska, where she enjoyed riding her horse to school, playing with friends and helping her father in the fields. She went to Edgar High School where she participated in cheerleading and graduated in 1964. After high school she attended the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado where she received her first degree in speech therapy. She returned to school and received her second degree in nursing in 1992 from Colby Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. Lynne was married for 29 years and had three children, who she loved dearly. The family moved from state to state eventually living in over ten states across the country. She enjoyed the excitement of living in new places and traveling was one of her favorite pastimes. Lynne worked as a nurse in many arenas but found her calling as a school nurse for fifteen years in Gilroy, California. After she retired from the school district in 2011 she split her time between her home in Gilroy and the farm in Edgar. She satisfied her desire to travel by exploring Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America. She also enjoyed driving around the country, walking her dogs, visiting with family and friends, researching genealogy and watching scary movies. Lynne is survived by her sons, Jonathan Howard of Gilroy, California and Brian Howard of Morgan Hill, CA and her daughter, Julie Howard of Moab, Utah; her grandchildren, Bailey Howard, Jack Howard and Henry Butler. Lynne was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Koontz, her father, Robert (Bob) Koontz, and grandmother Mildred Kollman. Funeral services will be held this Saturday 10:30 am July 25, 2015 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar, NE. Pastor David King will be officiating. Burial will be held in the Edgar Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com. Williams Funeral Home of Edgar, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
