Description	:	Robert Allen Koontz, son of Roy E. and Hettie Hammand Koontz, was born August 2, 1921, at Nelson, Nebraska, and departed this life on Saturday, July 3, 1993, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 2 days. On November 29, 1940, at Marysville, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Betty Kollman. This union was blessed with the birth of one daughter. Bob was a retired farmer from the Edgar, Clay County areas. Bob was a member of the Church of the Plains and American Legion Warren Fletcher Post #248, both of Edgar, the Tehama Shrine of Hastings, the Masonic Lodge #67 A.F. & A.M. and a former member of the Superior Elks Lodge #2197. Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers, Grandville, Jesse and Kenneth. Survivors include his wife Betty of Edgar, Nebraska; daughter Mrs. Dan (Lynne) Howard of White River, Vermont; grandchildren Brian, Jonathan and Julie; mother-in-law Mrs. Mildred Kollman of Edgar; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 7, 1993, from the Urbauer Williams Funeral Home Chapel of Edgar, NE, with Pastor Ellen Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, NE.
