Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Paddy Druhl will officiate. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015, at the funeral home. Read More	Lysle V. Eichelberger, 94, of rural Muscatine and Letts, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at his home. Memorials may be made to Muscatine County Fair or the Letts Community Fire Fighters. Lysle was born on August 31, 1921, in Muscatine County 76th Township, the son of O. E. and Mary VanZandt Eichelberger. He married Catherine H. Illian on September 15, 1946, at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Davenport. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2015. Lysle received the Farmer of the Year Award for Muscatine County in 1951, and continued to support agricultural research through the Southeast Iowa Agricultural Research Association. He actively engaged in farming up through the age of 94, last driving his tractor just two weeks prior to his death. He served on the following boards for Muscatine County; Muscatine Mutual Insurance Association for over 40 years, Board of Adjustments and the Soil and Water Conservation District. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and High Prairie United Methodist Church, and actively supported the 4-H activities of his children and grandchildren. Lysle is survived by his children, Lynne Rechterman of Tipton, Karen Eichelberger of Long Beach, California, Carol Gifford and husband, Roy, of Lancaster, Virginia, Scott Eichelberger and wife, Kathi, of Muscatine, and Lori Dressman and husband, Bruce, of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Brian Rechterman, Kara Shelman and husband, Justin, Riley, Jack, and William Eichelberger, and Anna and Samuel Dressman; two brothers, Dean Eichelberger of Muscatine, and Edward Eichelberger of West Liberty; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one sister, Arlene Hitchcock. Wittich-Riley-Freers Obituary
