EARL EICHELBERGER, 90, 216 Fletcher Ave., died Friday evening at Muscatine General Hospital. Services were held today at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Gamble officiated. Pallbearers were Gary Eichelberger, Roger Eichelberger, Scott Eichelberger, Doug Eichelberger, Paul Rechtermann and Vernon Deahr. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. O. Earl Eichelberger was born Nov. 8, 1889, in Muscatine County, the son of Elmer and Elva Longstreth Eichelberger. He was a life resident of Muscatine. His marriage to MARY VAN ZANDT took place Feb. 24, 1914, in Muscatine. He was a member of the High Prairie Methodist Church. He had been a trustee of 76 Township for many years and had also served on the school board for 76 Township. Mr. Eichelberger was a retired farmer. Survivors include three sons: Lyle of Muscatine, Dean of Letts and Edward of West Liberty; one daughter, Mrs. Stewart (Arlene) Hitchcock of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Levi of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, a sister and one grandchild.
