Surviving is his wife, Margaret; a stepson, Ken Smith and stepdaughter, Sharon Bortz, both of Mt. Pleasant; four stepgrandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, John and Eliza Loring, who helped raise him. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Schlotter and Rev. George Edgerly officiating.Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B.
