The bride, the daughter of Mrs. Doyle and the late N. J. Doyle, is one of Monterey's well known and popular young women; a graduate of Monterey High School, attended Madison College in Harrisonburg, and for a number of years has successfully taught in Monterey High School. She recently accepted a position as bookkeeper in the First and Citizens Bank and Trust Company at Monterey. She has been active in Church and community affairs and is held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Sallie Terry and the late H. H. Terry, and is a prosperous farmer and business man of the community. After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Terry will be at home in Monterey. The Recorder November 30, 1989 Mabel Doyle Terry. 96, died Tuesday. Nov. 21, 1989 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She was born May 8, 1893 m Valley Center, a daughter of Newton and Gradda Stulting Doyle. She was educated in Highland County public schools and Harrisonburg Teacher's College (now James Madison University). She taught in Highland County schools for 21 years and later was a bookkeeper at the First and Citizens Bank in Monterey for 17 years. She was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church, where at one time she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens group. On June 27, 1942, she married J. Frank Terry, who died Much 29. 1973. Survivors include a sister, R. Doyle Cox of Monterey; two step-daughters. Louise Slovensky and Helen Watson, both of Staunton; a step-son, Curtis Terry of Roanoke; and other relatives. A service was conducted 11 a.m. Friday in the Obaugh Funeral Home.
