Description	:	Mabel G. Perkins, daughter of George A. and Maggie B. Perkins, was born July 3, 1884, near Fairmont, Nebr. She received her education in the country schools of the Fairmont vicinity, and was united in marriage to Fred. C. Baker September 7, 1904. She received her education in the country schools of the Fairmont vicinity, and was united in marriage to Fred. C. Baker September 7, 1904. Four children were born to this union, two boys and two girls. One of the girls died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Baker have lived in the Fairmont community well over 50 year, and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1954. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Methodist Church, having indicated her willingness to live for Christ and others when a young woman. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbor lodge, the American Legion Auxiliary, the West Blue Aid, and other good community organizations. She had been a member of the West Blue Aid since a young girl. In the fall of 1957, it became noticeable that Mrs. Baker was in failing health, and though she began to get medical help and advice, her health continued to fail, and in the past few months it was known that she could not survive her illness. She passed away at the York Hospital in the morning of May 4th, 1959, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and the infant daughter. She leaves her husband, Fred C. Baker; two sons, George A. of New Port Richey, Fla., Howard B. of Prophetstown, Ill.; and one daughter, Mrs. Walter C. Moul of Fairmont; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Fenstermaker of Council Bluffs, Ia.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a very large circle of friends. Mrs. Baker was of a happy disposition, friendly to everyone, and always ready to help everyone and always ready to help her neighbors and friends in time of sickness or distress, and through the years had rendered a great deal of that type of service. Funeral services were held at Grace Methodist Church in Fairmont at 2 p.m., May 6, Rev. George M. Seick officiating. Miss Juanita Patterson and Oliver Moul sang "Abide with Me" and "Going Down the Valley.: Mrs. A.P. Stewart was accompanist. Pallbearers were Harold Meier, Lewis B. Moul, Charles Krejci, Harry Kelch, Lou Real and Clyde Jacobsen. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery. The Nebraska Signal May 21st, 1959 page 4. Married Fred C. Baker on December 7, 1904.
