Description	:	MRS. ORRA STRAIN DEAD This community was saddened on Friday morning, when the news came into town of the death of Mrs. Orra Strain at her home at Prairie Dale. The cause of her death was inflammation of the stomach with which she was attacked some three weeks ago. After the birth of her baby 12 days ago, the complaint had grown worse and she was unable to withstand the disease in her weakened condition. The sympathy of the people go out to the young husband and the two small children and other relatives in the community in the death of the mother, daughter and sister. Mabel Gross Strain was born in Knox county, Nebraska, May 30, 1893 to John D. and Rozelle J Abernathy Gross. She was united in marriage to Orra Strain, June 30, 1914 and to this union two children were born, Gladys, age 3 and the baby, Loretta Julia, age 12 days. Besides the husband and two children, she is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Gross Sr. of Elgin; four sisters, Mrs. Merle Stanek of Ekalaka; Mrs. Ada Bourn of Gann Valley, S.D., Mrs. Minnie Kesterson of Chico, Calif. and Miss Lucy Gross at home, also one brother, Aubder, at home.
