Mrs. Harrah was born Dec. 20, 1907 in Colorado to Ernest E. and Elsie Dumbauld Downs. At age six, she moved with her parents to Montour. She graduated from the Montour High School. On Oct. 3, 1925 she married Clarke Harrah in Tama. They farmed in the Montour area until retiring, when they moved to Montour. Mrs. Harrah had been in failing health since July and went to the Sunny Hill Care Center in Feb. 1981. She was a member of the Montour United Methodist Church, the United Methodist church women and was active in the Montour community in the EGAD club. She is survived by one son, Max, Garwin; three daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Kenneth) Freiberg, Marshalltown, Faye (Mrs. Marion) Berger, Traer, Flora Lou (Mrs. Rex) Finley, Montour; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford, Montour and Francis, Branson, MO., and one sister, Ethel (Mrs. Norman) Hoskey, Chelsea. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 27, 1972, a son, Lloyd in 1952 and a great-grandson. A memorial fund is being established.
