Description	:	OBIT: Mable Minton, 86, a former longtime Ellensburg resident, died Sunday in Tacoma in Orchard Park Convalescence Home where she has lived for the past year and a half. She was born in Heppner, Oregon on June 8, 1895 [Jun 8, 1883] and came to the Kittitas Valley at the age of four with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James L. Wilson. Read More	OBIT: Mable Minton, 86, a former longtime Ellensburg resident, died Sunday in Tacoma in Orchard Park Convalescence Home where she has lived for the past year and a half. She was born in Heppner, Oregon on June 8, 1895 [Jun 8, 1883] and came to the Kittitas Valley at the age of four with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James L. Wilson. She received her education in local schools and married William C. Minton in 1903. The couple farmed in the Valley's Denmark District for a time and later moved to the Woldale District to live on the City Wells property when Mr. Minton became supervisor of that department for the City of Ellensburg in 1929. They moved to Tacoma in 1941 where Mr. Minton died on January 16, 1943. Mrs. Minton was a former member of the Denmark Women's Club, a member and past president of the Woldale Thursday Club, a member of the Woldale Grange, a member of the Navy Mothers' Club, and a 25-year member of South Tacoma Rebekah Lodge No. 160. She is survived by six children; three sons, George of Toppenish; William of Camas; and Harold of Portland, Oregon; three daughters, Mrs. T. E. 'Irma' Desmond of Gig Harbor; and Hazel and Helen Minton, both of Tacoma; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren. The funeral will be 2 p.m., Wednesday in Evenson Chapel. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery with the Rt. Rev. Abbott Desmond and Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 25 officiating.
