Description	:	Mable was born September 14, 1917, in Spooner, Wisconsin, the daughter of Benjamin C. and Emma (Garner) Bliven. The family moved to Wynot, Nebraska where she attended school and graduated high school. On January 28, 1936, she married Raymond George "Ray" Fischer at Sioux City, Iowa. Read More	Mable was born September 14, 1917, in Spooner, Wisconsin, the daughter of Benjamin C. and Emma (Garner) Bliven. The family moved to Wynot, Nebraska where she attended school and graduated high school. On January 28, 1936, she married Raymond George "Ray" Fischer at Sioux City, Iowa. From this union, five children were reared. Tthe couple made their home in Onawa moving to Whiting in 1937. Mabel had been employed at the Whiting Community School and also for the Oliver Insurance Agency in Onawa. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church, was a member of the High School Ridge Needle Club and as a 4-H Club Leader. Mabel was survived by her husband Ray Fischer, of Whiting, Iowa; two daughters Carol and her husband, Tom Houchins, of Sioux City, Iowa, and Marilyn Fischer of Madison, WI; three sons and their wives, Jerry and Pauline Fischer of Minneapolis, MN, Ron and Vicky Fischer of Minneapolis, MN, and Dean and Mary Fischer of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. She was preceded in death by oson Kenneth, and one brother Dale. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 1999, at the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa with Rev. Richard Layman, officiating. The organist, Mrs. Jack Jordan, played the selections, "In the Garden", "How Great Thou Art" and "Oh Danny Boy". Honorary Bearers were Kerry Dean, Keith Dean, Sheri Bono, Josh Fischer, Stacy Fischer, and Dawn Fischer. Casket Bearers were Kurt Dean, Clay Fischer, Todd Fischer, Jeb Fischer, Paul Ketring, and Heather Fischer. Interment was in the Whiting Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa.
