Description	:	Madeline C. Lenz, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Driscoll) Koewler, was born June 17, 1907, in Fort Francis, Canada. She moved with her parents at an early age to Sac County, Iowa, where she received her schooling and later graduated from Early High School. Madeline married Carl Lenz, January 10, 1927, in Early, Iowa. Following their marriage they farmed in the Early area until 1949, at which time they moved to Linn Grove where they continued to farm. They later moved to Rossie and resided there for a few years before moving to Spencer in 1958.... Read More	Madeline C. While living in Spencer, Mrs Lenz worked for the Spencer Municipal Hospital and also for Younkers for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On August 20, 1985, Mrs Lenz passed away at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake, Iowa, at the age of 78 years 2 months & 3 days. She was preceded in death by her parents. Casket bearers will be Carl Lenz, Jr., Ron Madsen, Randall Wiemers, Don Lenz, Honorary bearers will be Ray Kirby, Joe Graff, Harold Wiemers, Gerald Madsen, Ed Madsen, and Rick Ellis. Madeline is survived by her husband, Carl; 10 children: Rose Marie. Marjorie, Patricia, Carl Jr, Bonnie, Janice, Marlene, Don, Sylvia & Betty Jo; 48 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: her twin sister, Kathryne Boland of Mora, MN; Marge-Mrs John Dahm & Edith-Mrs Henry Dahm, all of Early, Iowa; 1 brother, James Koewler of Pine City, MN; other relatives & friends. 2nd Obit MADELINE C. LENZ Services for Madeline C. Lenz, 78, of Spencer, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. the Rev. Robert McClintock will Officiate. Casket bearers will be Carl Lenz, Jr., Ron Madsen, Randall Wiemers, Don Lenz, Honorary bearers will be Ray Kirby, Joe Graff, Harold Wiemers, Gerald Madsen, Ed Madsen, and Rick Ellis. A Legion of Mary Rosary will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Warner Chapel and a parish rosary will be 8 p.m. Thursday at Warner Chapel. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Mrs. Lenz died Tuesday at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake. She Married Carl Lenz on January 10, 1927 in Early, IA and they farmed in the Early area until 1949 at which time they moved to Linn Grove where they continued to farm. They moved to Rossie, IA and resided there until moving to Spencer in October 1958. Mrs Lenz worked for Spencer Municipal Hospital and also for Younkers for many years. She was a member Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband; 10 children, Rose Marie Kirby of Mission, Kansas, Marjorie Madsen of Cherokee, Patricia Graff of Spencer, Carl Jr., of Onawa, Bonnie Madsen of Rembrandt, Janice Wiemers of Spencer, Marlene Lenz of Mound, Don Lenz of Spencer, Sylvia of Red Oak, and Betty Jo Ellis of Alliance, Nebraska; 48 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three sisters, her twin Kathryne Boland of Mora, Minn., Marge Dahm and Edith Dahm, both of Early, IA; and one brother James Koewler of Pine City, Minn.
