He came to the Meadow Grove area as a young man and farmed there. He has resided at Pierce Manor the past two years. He married Mabel Philpott in the late 1920's. She died February 6, 1987. He is survived by two sisters, Pearle Turk of Independence, Missouri, and May Smith of Williston, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, and two sisters. Published in the Battle Creek Enterprise; Wed., Jan. 27, 1988. NOTE: Though his stone shows the name "Maden", his given name was "Maiden".
