WILLIAMSON CALLED FROM EARTH A Fine Old Gentleman Who Will Be Much Missed HIS ILLNESS LONG The End Came at His Home, Near Lyonsville, Early Yesterday—Interment To Be Made On Tuesday Afternoon. Madison M. Williamson passed away at his home near Lyonsville, yesterday morning, at ten-thirty o’clock after an attenuated illness. He was confined to an Indianapolis hospital from last September until early March, when he returned to his boyhood home to spend the remainder of his days. He had passed his eighty-second year and was very well known throughout the country. He had been a lifelong resident of Jennings township. The deceased was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Williamson and was born on the farm on which he passed away. In his young manhood he was married to Mrs. Martha Lair. To this union two children, Samuel and Elsie, were born. Both survive. The wife died long since and a few years ago Mr. Williamson married Miss Sarah Rudy, who survives him. To this union no children were born. The death of Mr. Williamson is a distinct, real and general sadness. He was a gentleman of the old school, full of the graces of good citizenship and the fineness of early-day manners as well. Frank, unassuming, worthy in the last degree, his life, his ways and his influence were shed abroad in his community, and will be missed accordingly. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two-thirty o’clock at the Lutheran church at Lyonsville, the Rev. Dodson, assisted by the Rev. L. E. Brown, officiating. Interment will be made in the Union cemetery. Published 6 August 1917 in The Evening News (Connersville, Indiana). ---- WILLIAMSON RITES HELD WITH HONORS Great Attendance of Kinsfolk and of Friends. The obsequies in honor to the memory of Madison M. Williamson were held yesterday afternoon at two-thirty o’clock at the Lutheran church at Lyonsville, the Rev. L. E. Brown officiating. Many friends and relatives of the distinguished citizen paid fitting tribute to his memory. The floral offerings were beautiful. The bearers of the pall were near friends of the deceased, Frank Montgomery, George Junkins, Frank Holland, John Lyons, Louis Scholl and Grant Stanley. Interment was made in the Union cemetery. Published 8 August 1917 in The Evening News (Connersville, Indiana). ---- FUNERAL OF MADISON WILLIAMSON AT SPRINGERSVILLE Madison Williamson, of Lyonsville, died Sunday at the age of eighty-two years and funeral services were held at Springersville church on Tuesday afternoon. Deceased was the grandfather of Mrs. Charles Brown. Charles Brown and sons and F. G. Craft attended the funeral from here.
