Description	:	Mads Christian Christensen, son of Christian and Mette Marie (Hansen) Christensen, was born in Vitrup, Barglum Sogn, Denmark, May 18, 1853, and passed away Febr. 20, 1931, at the age of 77. He came to America in the year 1879, coming directly to Grand Island and was employed in that city a short time. He then came to Dannebrog and worked as a farm hand for a couple of years before getting possession of the place on which he made his home until the year 1926, after which he stayed with his children. Read More	Mads Christian Christensen, son of Christian and Mette Marie (Hansen) Christensen, was born in Vitrup, Barglum Sogn, Denmark, May 18, 1853, and passed away Febr. 20, 1931, at the age of 77. He came to America in the year 1879, coming directly to Grand Island and was employed in that city a short time. He then came to Dannebrog and worked as a farm hand for a couple of years before getting possession of the place on which he made his home until the year 1926, after which he stayed with his children. He was at the home of his son, Christian when he passed away. He was united in marriage to Sorine Nielsen on Nov. 4, 1886. To this union nine children were born, five boys and four girls. Two boys died at infancy. His wife passed away, Sept. 20, 1924. He is survived by seven children: Chris C. Christensen, Anna Faaborg, Aleda Jacobsen, Sophie Christensen, Bergitta Jacobsen, Arthur Christensen and Sigurd Christensen, all of whom were with him in his last days. He leaves to mourn his death, besides his children, sixteen grand-children and one brother, Soren Christensen, and several relatives in Denmark and a host of friends.
