Description	:	Mae (Quinn), daughter of Edward & Hannah (O'Donnel) was born in Racine County, Wisconsin, where she spent her first 8 years. In 1883, the family moved from Wisconsin to Hyde County, South Dakota. Her father brought building materials with them, and built the first frame house in Chapelle township. Mae attended grade school in Chapelle township, and a year of high school at Blunt, where she met Elmer Fuller. Read More	Mae (Quinn), daughter of Edward & Hannah (O'Donnel) was born in Racine County, Wisconsin, where she spent her first 8 years. In 1883, the family moved from Wisconsin to Hyde County, South Dakota. Her father brought building materials with them, and built the first frame house in Chapelle township. Mae attended grade school in Chapelle township, and a year of high school at Blunt, where she met Elmer Fuller. After her one year of high school, she began her teaching career as a country school teacher. In those early years, her brother drove an oxen team to take her to and from her boarding place, which was often miles away. Later she drove a pony cart to the nearer schools where she taught. She received $25 a month salary. Mae and Elmer were married May 16, 1901. They first lived on Elmer's homestead, 1 1/2 miles south of the Quinn home. Later they moved to the Quinn homestead. She and Elmer were both active in neighborhood activities. She was a member of St. Mary's Church as well as several Clubs. They were the parents of four girls and three boys: Bernice, Everett, Eleanor, Edna, Alice, Bruce, and Lowell. In later life, due to the death of their son Everett's wife, Loretta, Mae cared for his two children, Donald three, and Carolyn two. [Donald's tombstone shows his dob as 1931, so he was about 6, and Carolyn was probably 5?] Elmer died June 20, 1944, after a lingering illness.
