Read More	From Fry Memorial Chapel: Obituary for Mae V Johnson Mae V. Johnson, 97, passed away suddenly on Tuesday December 13, 2011 at Sutter Tracy. The ninth of ten children she was born September 20, 1914 in Petersburg, Nebraska to Lemmie & Ellen Shupe. Mae married the love of her life, Jerome A. Johnson on February 16, 1934 and spent 66 wonderful years of marriage together before his passing on October 29, 2000. They moved to Tracy in 1940 and traveled home to Nebraska every year to visit family. Once moving to Tracy they became members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mae was a very active member; she taught bible study classes, belonged to the Friendship Club and was a large supporter of the Bella Vista School. Mae leaves behind a dedicated family that loved and cared for her dearly, Mae Wible, Dorothy Bogetti, Claudia Arnaudo, Raymond Shupe, Dale Shupe and numerous other nephews and nieces. Mrs. Johnson's family would also like to send a wonderful & warm thank you to everyone who helped care for her over the past 6 years at Astoria Gardens. Everyone there always treated Mae with such love. She truly cherished her time there and loved all of them as her family. She loved taking part in all the activities, monthly luncheons and group trips. She really enjoyed the crafts, bingo games and Casino trips. Mae will be remembered as sweet, easy going, happy gal who always wore a smile. She was preceded in death by her parents; devoted husband Jerome Johnson, 9 siblings Hurly Shupe, Claude Shupe, Boyd Shupe, Brown Shupe, Belvin Shupe, Lesley Shupe, Dolly Hayes, Ruby Plummer, and Dorothy Smith and God sons James Smith and Jerry Smith. Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, is honored to be entrusted with Mrs. Johnson's funeral arrangements. A Church service will be held Friday, December 16, 2011 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1635 Chester Drive, Tracy. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Tracy Public Cemetery in a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made in her name to St. Paul's Church. A guest book is also available at www.frymemorialchapel.com for memories and condolences to the family.
