Description	:	May 21, 2006 Maedora W. "Dodie" Story Wenatchee Maedora W. "Dodie" Story, 80, passed away Wednesday morning, May 17, 2006, at Central Washington Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Dodie was born February 16, 1926, in Wauconda, WA to Dick and Mary Shellenbarger. They later moved to Monitor. Dodie attended school in Monitor and Cashmere, graduating in 1945. "Dodie" Story, 80, passed away Wednesday morning, May 17, 2006, at Central Washington Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Dodie was born February 16, 1926, in Wauconda, WA to Dick and Mary Shellenbarger. They later moved to Monitor. Dodie attended school in Monitor and Cashmere, graduating in 1945. After High School, Dodie moved to Seattle to live with her brother and work for Boeing assembling the B-29 Super fortress. She returned to the Wenatchee area and met and married Raymond Story on February 23, 1947. They made their home in Wenatchee and later owned the Medical Arts Drug pharmacy where she helped out with the administrative duties. She was active in PTA and Scouting, was a Den Mother for her three boys, and enthusiastic supporter of every activity they joined. They were original stockholders in Mission Ridge and enjoyed many winters skiing there with family and friends. Dodie was an active member of the Bee Hive Grange and had many Blue Ribbon entries in several categories at the Chelan County Fair. She was President of the Lake Chelan Yacht Club Barnacle Club. She also worked for the Chelan County PUD as a fish counter retiring in 1993. After retirement, she toured the country and took a tour of Europe, enjoyed snowmobiling, skiing and especially square dancing. She was a member of as many square dance clubs as she could attend in a week, most recently the Buds and Blossoms, where she served as secretary, treasurer and president. She was active in bringing numerous square dance jamborees to Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by Raymond; her parents; three brothers, Merle, Lowry and Leo; and two sisters, Anna and Dewilla; and three nephews, Tim, Gary and Dana. She is survived by her three sons, Greg and Sandy Story, Randy and Averil Story and Raymond "Terry" Story; three grandchildren, Tamara and Dave Bierschbach, Greg Story, Jr., and Kareena Story; one great-grandchild, Amanda Bierschbach; nephews, Corky Shellenbarger, Leroy Shellenbarger and Rick Shellenbarger; and a niece, Sue Shellenbarger. Services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. at the Monitor United Methodist Church, 3799 Fairview Canyon Road, Monitor with Pastor Mike O'Neal officiating. Friends who wish may make contributions to the Monitor United Methodist Church building fund or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
