KANEL. Mrs. Magdalene Kanel passed away last Wednesday night at her home five miles northeast of DuBois, aged sixty-six years and ten months. Mrs. Kanel was born in Germany. She settled with her husband in an early day on a farm northeast of here and was one of the most highly respected old settlers of the community. Her loss will be deeply felt in the community. She was the mother of three sons and six daughters. The sons now living are Alfred, who lives on the old home place, and Adolph, who owns an elevator at Hamlin, Kansas. The funeral services were conducted at the German Reformed church northeast of here Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, Rev. Vollprecht officiating. Interment was had in the church cemetery. HUMBOLDT STANDARD (Humboldt, Nebraska) MAGDALENA KANEL Mrs. Magdalena Kanel died on Wednesday, January 29th, at her home a few miles south of town. Deceased was an old and highly respected citizen of Richardson county. She was a native of Switzerland. At the time of her death she was 66 years, 9 months and 29 days old. Funeral services were held from the home Friday and her body laid at rest in the cemetery at Salem. Two sons and four daughters remain to mourn her death, and to whom the sincere sympathy of the community is extended. (Thanks goes to Researcher Barbara Schwartz for sending the obituaries.)
