Read More	d/o Peter KAUL and Mary Elizabeth REIDENBACH. w/o Grant ARNOLD m. 14 Dec 1892 Holton, Jackson County, Kansas THE HOLTON RECORDER ~ May 18, 1961 Magdelena, daughter Peter and Mary Elizabeth Kaul, was born March 8, 1867 in New Frankfort, Missouri. At the age of 17, she moved with her parents to a farm southeast of Holton. Early in life, she united with the Evangelical Church and took an active interest in church activities as long as her health permitted. At the time of passing, she was the oldest member of the Holton church in terms of age, and was one of two remaining Charter members of the Women’s Society of World Service. She was united in marriage to Grant Arnold on December 14, 1892, and they established their home in the Drake Community, where they lived until the death of her husband. Mother Arnold then moved to Holton where she lived the remainder of her earthly life. To this union, five children were born. She was a loving wife and mother, and her life centered around her family. She was a Charter member of both the Violet club and the Elk Valley Grange. She departed this life on May 4, 1961, at the age of 94 years, one month, and twenty-six days. She is survived by one son, John Arnold of Whiting; two daughters, Mrs. Tom Hill of Holton, and Mrs. Ruby Kopp, of Monticello, Iowa; ten grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren, in whom she found great joy; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Oda Kaul of Shreveport, LA; one brother in law, Mr. Frank Arnold of Holton and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Clarence and Ray. Memorial services were held at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, May 6, 1961, at 1:30p.m. Rev. M.M. Wright, the officiating minister, assisted by Rev. Donald Moss. Mrs. M.M. Wright sang "The 23rd Psalm" and "The Lord's Prayer", accompanied by Mrs. Charles Haag, organist for the service. Casket bearers were Charles Arnold, Wendell Arnold, and William G. Arnold, William Hill, Harold Arnold, and Milton Harms. Interment was in the Holton Cemetery.
