Description	:	Lena Schutz was born in Weittentahl, Germany, on November 7, 1864, and came to the United States at the age of 16. She was married to Henry Desque January 25, 1883, and settled on a farm in Douglas county four miles east of Overbrook. They resided there until March, 1920, when they moved to Topeka. She was married to Henry Desque January 25, 1883, and settled on a farm in Douglas county four miles east of Overbrook. They resided there until March, 1920, when they moved to Topeka. Mrs. Desque passed away April 29, 1937, at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 22 days. Her husband preceded her in death 8 months ago on August 11, 1936. At the age of 14, she was confirmed in the German Luthern church, of which she remained an active member throughout her life. Mrs. Desque leaves to mourn her departure five sons, John, Charles, Henry and Edward Desque of Overbrook and Gerhart, of Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Kupper, of Connersville, Ind., Mrs. Louise Reilly, Overbrook; twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. There is one brother M. Schutz, of Lawrence, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Scheid, of Vassar, and Mrs. Anna Lockwood, of Jersey City, N.J.. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1 pm at the home in Topeka and at 3 pm at the Methodist church n Overbrook. Intermet was in the Overbrook cemetery.
