Description	:	Maggie May Loggie was the oldest of 6 children born on January 4, 1890 to William and Ruth Ann Welch Frost. Maggie was named after an Indian maiden, whose name was Maggie Kickapoo, a member of the Kickapoo Tribe under the Micmac Tribe. Maggie married William Burns Loggie on June 1, 1910 by the Rev. Elder Hannaford of Rumford. Maggie had always been a very active person who spent much of her leisure time involved in crafts of various descriptions. Maggie was named after an Indian maiden, whose name was Maggie Kickapoo, a member of the Kickapoo Tribe under the Micmac Tribe. Maggie married William Burns Loggie on June 1, 1910 by the Rev. Elder Hannaford of Rumford. Maggie had always been a very active person who spent much of her leisure time involved in crafts of various descriptions. Maggie was the Boston Post Cane recipient twice, when she was 95 and 96 respectivley. She was the 19th recipient since the town of Dixfield received the cane in 1909. Maggie volunteered during the Cold War (1950's) in the Civil Air Patrol. During this time the volunteers counted the number of planes that flew over the Androscoggin and Dixfield area and they also tried to identify the type of plane. Maggie also was involved with the Dixfield, ME American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) She was the mother of Margret (Everett Harnden) and Kathleen E. (Carlton Finethy). She had 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was a joy to be around and was very much loved by all who knew her. Bio written by Amelia M. Finethy - Earle (granddaughter)
