Description	:	Thought to have been born at Carlyle, Pa. in 1750. When he was 24 years old, he was a Major in the Pennsylvania Militia, accompanied Gen. Andrew Lewis's army to Point Pleasant and defeated Chief Cornstalk, and opened up the Ohio River frontier. On Dec. 28, 1800 he married Nancy Keeney, Grand-niece of Gen. Lewis at Charleston, W.Va. Received grants of land from Virginia Governors, and built log house at Kanawha Falls, (W.Va.) in 1809. He reared a large family, and died 1851 (101 years old).
