Bible Record: ''John Thompson Green, son of William and Jane Green,was born 15 July, 1753 and was Baptized at Black River Church.'' On January 20, 1791, John Thompson Green married Jane Davis, Daughter of Henry Davis Jr., of Prince Frederick Parish. Jane Davis was born in Prince Frederick Parish in March 1767 and died there June 28, 1801. On January 20, 1791, John Thompson Green married Jane Davis, Daughter of Henry Davis Jr., of Prince Frederick Parish. Jane Davis was born in Prince Frederick Parish in March 1767 and died there June 28, 1801. Bible Record: ''John Thompson Green, son of William and Jane Green, married Jane Davis on Thursday 20th of January 1791 by the Rev. Knox.'' In the land grant books of South Carolina there are eleven grants to John Thompson Green between 1787 and 1811. These lands amounted to more than 6,000 acres and were between the Pee Dee River and Black Mingo Swamp. John Thompson Green served in the Pee Dee Regiment, General Marions Brigade, in the Revolution-first asprivate soldier, then Lieutenant, then Captain and finally held the rank of Major. (14), (15), (16), (17) In the South Carolina Archives (South Carolina Historical Commission,Columbia,SC.8.C.) in ''Accounts of Descendants of William Green in South Carolina 20 Revolutionary Soldiers Audited and Allowed,'' John Thompson Green's file number is 3068-a. Among the original documents pertaining to the account of Major John Thompson Green in this file is his petition to the State Senate dated November 20, 1821 asking for his Army Salary in the Revolution which had never been paid. This claim was allowed. In this petition he is called Major. He never asked for and never received a pension. See pages 38,39,60,61,62.
