Malon A. Snook was married to Lauretta Page on June 9, 1872, in Jefferson County, Iowa. After her death, he married Susie Deitch on August 16, 1920, in Ottumwa. It does not appear that Malon and Susie were still married at the time of her death. Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Tuesday, May 31, 1932: Nalon A. Snook, 83 year old, 533½ Church street, died in the Ottumwa hospital at 11:30 a.m. today. He had been ill at the hospital for the last six weeks. Mr. Snook is survived by six children. They are John of Ottumwa, Mrs. Effie Peterson of Westfield, N.J., Mrs. Veryl Anderson of Hedrick, Mrs. Etta Long of Floris and Harry and Herbert, both of Kansas. Mrs. Floyd Peterson of Peoria, Ill., and Emil Peterson and Eva Peterson, both of Westfield, N.J., are here for the funeral services which will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Roscoe mortuary. Services will be in charge of the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Dahlonega cemetery.
