Mrs. Hill was born June 27, 1929 in Surry County to Charlie Turner and Lillie Bell Hemmings Perkins. Mamie was a faithful member of Copeland Baptist Church, a charter member of the Copeland Eastern Star and a member of Copeland Extension Homemakers Club. Read More	DOBSON, NC (Copeland Community) ~ Mrs. Mamie Ann Perkins Hill, 76, of 201 Joe Hill Road, Dobson, wife of Joe Hill, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Hill was born June 27, 1929 in Surry County to Charlie Turner and Lillie Bell Hemmings Perkins. Mamie was a faithful member of Copeland Baptist Church, a charter member of the Copeland Eastern Star and a member of Copeland Extension Homemakers Club. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe Hill of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law: JoAnn and Tommy Mustin of Dobson, Pam and Jack Dollyhigh of Mount Airy and Cynthia and Jim Scott of Pinnacle; four sons and three daughters-in-law: Thomas and Regina Hill of Elkin, Larry and Sandra Hill of Dobson, Errol and Crystal Hill of Mount Airy and Toby Hill of Dobson; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Marie Hicks of Elkin, June Moore of Durham and Frances Ward and Fred Stanley of Dobson; and a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Dot Perkins, of Elkin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by a brother, John Perkins; and a sister, Lois Howerton. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at Copeland Baptist Church. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Ronald Lawrence and the Rev. Junior Corn, and burial will be in Copeland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 10, at Copeland Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 1326 N. Main St., Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Hill family.
