Read More	Twins Mamie Clara and Mabel Carrie Hoffman were born on December 20, 1896, the 8th and 9th children of her parents, Charles Lewis Hoffman and Rachel Agnes Hoffman nee Hunt. They were born near Nelson, Nuckolls County, Nebraska. Mamie Clara died on January 9, 1993 in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. Mamie Clara Hoffman married (1) Jesse James Carpenter on August 20, 1926 at the Nelson county courthouse, in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. He was the son of John Wesley Carpenter (1854-1924) and his wife Melissa Carpenter, nee Sampson (1857-1932). Jesse was born on December 8, 1885 in Summerfield, Marshall County, Kansas, and died on December 1, 1952 in Superior, Nuckolls County, Nebraska. Mamie married (2) Elmer Alex Farver on September 27, 1956 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He was the son of Marquis and Susan Farver. Elmer was born on November 11, 1890 near Nelson, Nuckolls County, Nebraska, and died on July 7, 1962 in Winterset, Madison County, Iowa. OBITUARY FOR MAMIE CLARA HOFFMAN CARPENTER FARVER Mamie Clara Farver, daughter of Charles L. and Rachel (Hunt) Hoffman, was born December 20, 1896, near Nelson Nuckolls County, Nebraska, and went home to be with her God on January 9, 1993, at the age of 96 years and 19 days. She died at the Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. Her early childhood was spent in the Abdal, Nebraska, community, later moving to Superior, Nebraska. On August 20, 1926, she was united in marriage to Jesse J. Carpenter of Superior. Three children were born to this union. Mr. Carpenter passed away December 1, 1952. In September 1956, she married Elmer Farver of Winterset, Iowa. Mr. Farver passed away on July 7, 1962. She accepted Jesus as her personal saviour and was baptized at the Grace Baptist Church in Farmington, New Mexico. She later joined the Church of Christ in Superior, where she was a member until death. The last two years of her life she spent in Springfield, Missouri, to be close to her son. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husbands, were her parents; a twin sister, Mrs. Mabel Bishop; twin brothers, Ralph and Ray; a brother, Wes; two brothers and two sisters, who died in childhood; and one great granddaughter, who died in childbirth. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Arcele) Andersen of Farmington, New Mexico, and Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Russell of Chula Vista, California; one son, Merlin Carpenter, and his wife, Norma, of Springfield, Missouri; a step-son, Harold Carpenter, and his wife, Marian, of Superior who she cherished as her own; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 1993, at 1 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Ken Fairbrother officiating. Casketbearers will be Michael and David Carpenter, Larry Russell, Elgin and Duane Saunders and Ralph Wilton. Burial will be in the Ida Cemetery near Munden, Kansas, in Republic County.
