Mrs. Manes was the widow of Culbert H. Manes who died in 1929. She was born in Warren, PA on April 5, 1866 and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Slater. Mrs. Manes was the widow of Culbert H. Manes who died in 1929. She was born in Warren, PA on April 5, 1866 and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Slater. The deceased was active in church work as long as her health permitted. She was a charter member of the South Canonsburg Church. Surviving are the following children: Thelma E., wife of J. W. "Bud" Few, Canonsburg; Mrs. Edward Schaming, Butler; Mrs. Estella Brantner, Moundsville, West Virginia; Mrs. Jesse Sondereker, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. J. W. Perrine, Canonsburg; Mrs. L. P. Cook, Donaldson Crossroads; and Mrs. Blanche Boyce, Canonsburg. She also leaves eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Josephine "Josie" Braun, Butler. Friends are being received at the Hinton and Griffith Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday, December 16th at 2 p.m. in charge of the Reverend Ralph T. Kemper, South Canonsburg Church. Burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery. Hinton and Griffith are the funeral directors.
