Read More	The Sargent Leader Thursday July 27, 1950 page 1, column 2 & 3 Manila Jane Galbreath Manila Jane Brown, daughter of Geo. F. and Malinda A Brown was born in Union Co., Ill., Nov. 20 th 1869 and passed away at Sargent, Nebraska, July 15, 1950. In 1884 she moved, with her parents to Holt Co., Mo., where she grew to womanhood. In 1890 she was united in marriage to Geo, B. Galbreath, also of Holt Co. and to this union two childern were born, David Leslie and Mattie May. In the year 1910 the family moved to Loup Co., Nebraska and settled on a claim, 11 miles north of Almeria, where they lived until 1917. At this time the home was sold to the son, Leslie and Mr & Mrs bought a home in Taylor, Nebr. In 1919 the only daughter, Mattie, died leaving two children, Muriel and James, who were taken into the home of the grandparents and there they remained for 10 years. In 1920, because of Mr. Galbreaths failing health, he and Mrs Galbreath moved to the ozarks, in Missouri where Mr. Galbreath passed away in 1928. After her husbands death she came back to St. Joseph, Mo., where she cared for a aged mother for 6 years, until her death. Then Mrs Galbreath returned to Nebraska, wher she passed the remaining days of her life, the last few years being spent in Sargent. As a child she was reared in a christian home and was converted at the age of 13 years, when she joined the Baptist Church. Reguardless of donomination, she was always an active worker in the Sunday school and Church where she resided. She had a sweet voice and used it continually in sond and praise to her Lord. In her younger life she was a leade in the muscial activities if the Church. Naturally of a sunny disposition, her kindness was unsurpassed and she as a real friend to all. To know her was to love her. In a recent letter to a friend she said: "I want my last days to be my best days for my Lord" She leaves to morn her passing, her son, Leslie and family of Prosperin, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 22 g- grandchildren, also 2 sisters; Mrs Emma Mitchell of Rochester, N.Y. and Mrs Annie Barton of Debuque, Ia., and a host of friends.
