McDowell Walker 47, a former resident of this county, at a farm near Corvallis, Mont., where he had stopped while the family was moving to Darby. He and a son had been picking apples and it is thought he had overdone, taxing a heart already in poor condition. His body was brought here, funeral services being held from the Patterson & Graff chapel yesterday afternoon. Rev. Max Brandt of the Church of God was in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. E F. Osterhout, Mrs. Brandt, and Geradine Blackwell, with Elsie Savchenko at the organ. Pallbearers were Floyd McAllister, G. O. Schulz, Clyde Bainter, E F. Osterhout, Phil Hanso, Anshelm Olin. Interment was in Mountain View. Mr. Walker was born in Morganton, N. C. November 11, 1892. He came to Montana in 1911, spending three years at Chico Hot Springs. In 1914 he filed on a homestead on Tin Can hill where he lived 10 years, in the meantime, 1919, marrying Miss Edna Boyd. After leaving the homestead they were on a farm at Glasston six years, then went to Oregon, where they resided three years at Wolf Point. The family was not satisfied in Oregon and returned to Montana three months ago since which time his health apparently had been much improved. Surviving him are his wife; a son, Manly, Jr; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Booth of Graves Creek, Ore., Rosalie, and an adopted daughter, Bonnie June; a sister, Mrs. Pete Gottlob of Big Timber, all here for the funeral service. Another sister, Mrs. Henry Setzer and three brothers, Albert, Edward and Walter Walker reside in Hickory, N, C.
