He was born near Troy Mills, Iowa, March 27, 1862, and therefore at the time of his decease had reached the age of seventy-five years and three days. He was the youngest and last survivor of seven children. When nine years of age he came with his mother to Cedar county, where he lived the greater part of his life. March 9, 1899, he was united in marriage to Annie L. Betzer, who survives him. Three children, Vivian and Chalmer Keller, who live in the parental home, Mrs. Thelma Achey of Lisbon, Iowa; Donald Wood, a nephew who was reared from babyhood by Mr. and Mrs. Keller, and four grandchildren remain to mourn the departure of a loved one. Mr. Keller's vocation was that of a farmer, a calling which he with millions of others have adored by the expenditure of brain and brawn in supplying the world with its greatest physical necessities. Those who knew him speak warmly of his ready responses in neighborly ministrations, and of his helpful service to the unfortunate. Funeral services were conducted at the Buchanan church Friday afternoon by Rev. W. E. Van Buren of Tipton. Mrs. Forest Fraseur and Mrs. George Fraseur sang three selections.
