Jacob appears to be the only one from that clan that came to Iowa. Benjamin is the son of Henry Keller and Catherine Seitz. They had a bunch of children too. Added by KLBONETT Linn County Biographical Record page 638-Among the leading agriculturists of Grant township is the gentleman whose name introduces this review, his home being on section 1. He was born in Ohio, July 10, 1843, and is the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Dilts), natives of Pennsylvania, who removed to Ohio at an early day and in 1849 came to Iowa. After spending about six years in Cedar County (near Wood Bridge) Jacob and Elizabeth, removed to Buchanan County in the spring of 1855, and the father purchased eighty acres of governament land, which he put under cultivation, continuing to make that place his home until called to his final rest in January, 1864, at the age of fifty years. His wife died in August, 1895, and is buried in Cedar County. In politics he was a Republican. Our subject is the second in order of birth in a family of seven childlren, the others being William, a resident of Des Moines; Mary Ellen, of Buchanan County; Henry, deceased; Margaret, of Linn County; and Ida and Marcus, both of Cedar County, Iowa. Reared in this atate, Ephraim Keller attended the public schols of Cedar, Buchanan and Linn counties util nineteen years of age, and at the same time assisted in the operation of the home farm, taking charge of the same after his father's death, and remaining there until 1870. Later he resided at various places, and became a permanent resident of Grant township, Linn County, in 1882, when he purchased eighty acres of land on section 1, to which he subsequently added forty acres. In 1899 he remodeled his residence, and has made many other improvements upon the place which add greatly to its value and attractive appearance. He raises both grain and stock for market, and is meeting with well-deserved success. At Independence, Iowa, Mr. Keller was married in 1869, to Miss Azuba Stevens, who was born at Flag Staff, Maine. Ephraim and Azuba were parents of seven children, all living, namely: Lenora Dell Keller, wife of Louis Peyton, of Grant Township; Luetta Keller, wife of Charles Church, of Troy Mills; Tessa Melvina Keller, wife of Charles Andrews, a farmer of Buchanan County; Prince Edward Keller, who lives in Grant township, Linn County, at home; Frank Leslie Keller, who married Esther Walton and is engaged in farming in Buchanan County; and Ervin Wesley Keller and Stewart Austin Keller, both at home. In his political affiliations, Mr. Keller is a Republican, and at present is a member of the school board in his district. He is a man of considerable prominence in the c ommunity in shich he lives, and wherever known he is held in high regard.
