Obituary - Julius Wiegand was born March 28, 1849 in Villa of Berteroda, Saxony, Germany and passed away at his home in Plainview, Nebraska at 12:30 p.m. March 11, 1926 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 11 days. Mr. Wiegand came to America with his parents at the age of 5 years and settled at Rock Island, Illinois. Obituary - Julius Wiegand was born March 28, 1849 in Villa of Berteroda, Saxony, Germany and passed away at his home in Plainview, Nebraska at 12:30 p.m. March 11, 1926 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 11 days. Mr. Wiegand came to America with his parents at the age of 5 years and settled at Rock Island, Illinois. Here the deceased remained until he was 20 years old then he moved to Fremont, , Dodge, Nebraska where he took a homestead in 1863. He lived there 13 years. In 1887 he moved to Antelope county, Nebraska, five miles west of Plainview where he resided on his farm until 8 years ago where he bought a farm in Plainview and resided there until his death. Julius Wiegand was married April 28, 1874 in , Dodge, Nebraska to Henrietta Wilhelmina Schmudo. Six children were born to this union, four of which have are deceased. The two living are Mrs. E.G. Harris of Speer, Minnesota and Walter R. of Plainview. There is one sister Mrs. John Rexin, two brothers Lew and Dave, both of Scribner, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The deceased was taken sick the middle of April last year and with the exception of a brief period has been a suffering invalid up to the time of his departure. He was a patient sufferer. In his life he was always jolly and was a good friend to everybody and tried to live a good life. The funeral service was held at the Congregational church on Saturday afternoon and was conducted by the Rev. W. Ewart Dudley. The burial was at the East Cemetery.
