Description	:	Services were held Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Dindot Klusmann Chapel in Lennox for Mareke (Margaret) Iken who, following a brief illness of one day, died at the Lennox Good Samartian Center on Tuesday evening, Dec. 30, 2003. She attained the age of 99 years, nine months and two days. Mareke (Margaret) Eiben Iken was born in Utwerdum, Ostfriesland, Germany on March 28, 1904 the daughter of Johanna (Lucht) and Eibe Neelen Iken. She attained the age of 99 years, nine months and two days. Mareke (Margaret) Eiben Iken was born in Utwerdum, Ostfriesland, Germany on March 28, 1904 the daughter of Johanna (Lucht) and Eibe Neelen Iken. At 18 years of age she moved to the United States with her family, settling in Akron, IA. In 1932 they moved to South Dakota, to a farm east of Lennox. In 1945 they moved into Lennox where she cared for her parents until their deaths. Mareke continued to make her home in Lennox, in recent years at Sunrise Manor and then became a resident of the Lennox Good Samaritan Center in August of 2002. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1953; her father in 1965; three brothers, Eberhard Iken in 1989, Okke Iken in 1991 and Neal Iken in 1992 and one sister, Rika Wiegand in 2003. Grateful for having shared her life are one sister, Martha Hagel of Fair Lawn, New Jersey; her sister-in-law, Johanna M. Iken, of Lennox; several nieces and nephews including those living in the Lennox area, Albert and Lorna Iken; Martha Iken and Johanna H. Iken; plus several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
