Description	:	Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Wednesday, 22 April 1925 Dannebrog, Nebr., April 22.--(Special).--Mrs. Niels Steffensen, one of the old pioneers of this vicinity, passed away at her home, four miles northwest of this place, yesterday at the age of 79. She was married in Denmark in 1872, coming to America in 1873 and settling with her husband on the farm where she died and where they have since resided continuously since there arrival in this country. Read More	Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Wednesday, 22 April 1925 Dannebrog, Nebr., April 22.--(Special).--Mrs. Niels Steffensen, one of the old pioneers of this vicinity, passed away at her home, four miles northwest of this place, yesterday at the age of 79. She was married in Denmark in 1872, coming to America in 1873 and settling with her husband on the farm where she died and where they have since resided continuously since there arrival in this country. She was a home loving woman living for her husband and children and left her home very little. She leaves, besides her husband, two sons and five daughters; Jens Steffensen, Rockville, Soren Steffensen, Dannebrog, who resides at the home place, Mrs. Marie Petersen and Mrs. Anna Thompson, both of Rockville, Mrs. Chas. Lauritsen, Mrs. Thomas Lauritsen and Mrs. P. M. Jensen, all of Dannebrog. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Jorgen Anderson, at Cushing and a brother, Niels Peterson, in California. Mrs. Steffensen was sick but a week and fears were not entertained until the last two days. She will be buried at Nysted from the Lutheran church Monday, April 27, Rev. Moller and Rev. Pedersen officiating.
